Signal Regiment on the road from Iraq to Milford and beyond

THE Porsches, Triumphs and Bentleys on the Milford Haven - Tenby vehicle run will be joined by some less elegant body shapes this year, as the 14th Signal Regiment bring a couple of their own vehicles to the parade.

The ugly duckling of the day is likely to be the Daimler Pinzgauer radar sensor truck. While not the most beautiful vehicle on the road, the Pinzgauer, freshly back from Iraq and one of only two in use worldwide, is undoubtedly going to be the most expensive, clocking in at a cool £4 million in value.

The Pinzgauer, which is due to go out of service soon after tours of duty in Bosnia, Sarajevo and both Gulf wars, will be joined by a more standard Land Rover also just back from Iraq.

Both vehicles will be taking part in the full road trip and people will be encouraged to take a closer look at them at the route's end in Tenby.
