Best foot forward for coastal charity walk

Pembroke Ladies' Lifeboat Guild is still hoping to hear from more people willing to walk four or eight miles in aid of the RNLI. Volunteers will join an enthusiastic group to enjoy the scenic route across the Castlemartin Range on Sunday, September 14th.

The annual event begins at 1pm (barbecue and other refreshments from 11am onwards) at Newton Tower, near St Govan's Chapel.

Everyone is welcome to join in the walk (or to run competitively) in return for a small donation, but all who raise over £5 will receive a certificate to commemorate the occasion. Supporters can just turn up on the day but it is hoped that many will try to collect sponsorship beforehand. Dogs which help to raise funds are also welcome!

Sara Edwards, from BBC Wales, will be there to join in the fun and the Western Telegraph editor Fiona Phillips will be taking part. She would love to hear from anyone willing to sponsor her and donations can be sent to the Telegraph office in Merlins Bridge.

Sponsorship forms are still available by phoning 01646 672168 or 683900.
