Real Radio comes to county in pop star, birthday launch

Former Spice Girl Melanie C and S Club favourite Rachel Stevens are set to launch Real Radio across Pembrokeshire next month.

The station will make its debut in the region on 105.7FM and 106.2FM at 8am on Friday, October 3rd - the day the station celebrates its third birthday.

The chart-topping singers will welcome new listeners to Real Radio from St Davids to Chepstow and from Cardigan to Monmouth during the breakfast show with Sarah Graham and Steve Wiggins.

Presenters Angela J. and Simon Parkin will broadcast live as they travel across Pembrokeshire throughout the day, visiting shopping centres, businesses and local communities. Accompanied by the station's 'Notes and Quotes' team, Angela and Simon will travel to Tenby, Haverfordwest, Fishguard, St Davids and Milford Haven, to mark Real Radio's arrival in the area.

Real Radio provides a mix of entertaining talk and popular music to Wales, and new listeners will be able to join the growing audience of 348,000 listeners a week. Rugby fans will be able to tune into Rupert Moon, former Llanelli star player, who joins the weeknight drive-time Real Sports Phone (6pm - 7pm) to discuss the day's top sporting stories with listeners. Other sporting stars on the show include former Welsh international footballers David Giles and Leighton James.

Tony Blackburn takes to the airwaves every Saturday night with his Real Party Night, (6pm - 10pm), where he plays soul and club classics.

Former Radio One legends Gary Davies and Mark Goodier host album and singles chart shows on Sunday afternoon.
