Dear Editor, - I have been so delighted to see the recent renovation of the Lion Hotel in Pembroke. The building occupies a prominent site as you enter the town over the Mill Pond and I think the new colours really enhance the beautiful structure and proportions of its striking achitectural features. I do not understand why it has been singled out for criticism and a possible £20,000 fine, as there must be many grade two listed buildings in the town painted in a variety of bright colours. If this particular shade of plum is considered not to be 'historically correct', why doesn't the council make it clear in advance what colours, apart from magnolia, are acceptable and apply the rules to everyone?
