Jackie's new website gets seal of approval

World book day, on March 4th, saw the launch of a new website for children's illustrator, Jackie Morris, to coincide with the broadcast of the BBC Radio 4 Ramblings programme.

Jackie's new website (jackiemorris.co.uk) has a catalogue of all the books she has illustrated, paintings and card designs, as well as resource pages for schools.

Designed and made by local web designer Tim Stowe, otherwise known as the web janitor, it was partially funded by Opportunity Wales through the Pembrokeshire Business Initiative.

"My website has been a wonderful way of presenting my work to a worldwide audience" said Jackie.

"I have had e-mails about paintings from as far away as Kazakhstan and America. I hope that the new site, which is far more comprehensive, will be as successful.

I have books published in about 14 languages and receive e-mails from people all around the world who have been sent my cards."

The website carries information about Jackie's new book, The Seal Children, which is to be published on June 1st.

It is set in a ruined village near St Davids, and an edition will be published simultaneously in Welsh.
