Big guns return to KO Cup action

The draw for the Rugby Pembrokeshire Knock-Out Cup for the 2004/5 season, again sponsored by Texaco, was made at the recent meeting of the Pembrokeshire league management committee.

The major talking point was the fact that big guns Whitland and Narberth both indicated that they wanted to re-join the competition.

The draw was made by Johnnie Jones, the District 'H' rep on the WRU, and overseen by George Relleen (president), Paul Ambrose (chairman), Alan Jones (vice-chairman), Charles Davies (Hon secretary) and Brian Stephens (Hon treasurer) - and Johnnie immediately created a further stir by picking Narberth and Whitland to play each other in the first round, leaving last season's runners-up, Crymych, with the only bye.

Cup holders Pembroke Dock Harlequins face a tough start as they travel to Neyland while Llangwm and Haverfordwest need to organise their travel permits early because they play at Aberystwyth and Aberaeron respectively!

The draw for the Welsh Cup has also recently taken place and four local clubs face an early start in the preliminary round on August 28th.
