An uplifting experience

A bra that looked like Dame Edna Everidge's glasses. That's how Prince Charles described a piece of lingerie made by Vicki Watson from Newcastle Emlyn.

Vicki, a former schoolteacher, has set up a company called Strait Laced from her farmhouse home, where her line of lingerie includes hand painted bras and panties, Victorian-style corsets, basques and pyjamas.

She was one of two PRIME Cymru clients from Newcastle Emlyn introduced to the Prince when he visited Carmarthen, last week.

Vicki said Prince Charles expressed his appreciation of the quality and colours of the clothing. "He was very interested in my designs, even asking if the corsets were still made with steel rods. He also enquired what techniques I used to paint them."
