Organic firms link up

A new partnership between two Welsh organic food suppliers will reduce food miles and cut delivery times to customers, says Pembrokeshire dairy producer Dai Miles.

Mr Miles, who farms at Barnsley Farm, Crowhill, Haverfordwest, and is a director of Lawrenny-based Calon Wen, is confident that the joint venture between Calon Wen Organic Foods and Cambrian Organics will make Welsh organic produce more readily available to customers.

It would also create greater flexibility for ordering and delivery, he said. The new venture follows Calon Wen's take-over of Frontline Foods in south Wales and the company's distribution agreement with Rachel's Organic Dairy.

"We want to make sure that we can provide a full range of Welsh organic produce with the very best availability throughout Wales and the Marches, and working with Cambrian Organics will help us to do that," said Mr Miles.

"This latest partnership project means we are better able to serve our customers, and further improve the service we offer."
