Dear Editor, - With regard to Hermon School - once again the county council steamroller trundles on its way, ignoring the wishes and concerns of those who pay for it.

The decision to close the very successful Hermon school beggars belief and to say that bigger necessarily means better is arrant nonsense.

This arrogant 'nanny knows best' attitude is typical of modern local and national government.

Just for once, listen to the electorate who put you in power!
