Parking problem top of our agenda

Dear Editor, - We are sorry that your correspondent Elizabeth Elliot, from Narberth, (letter, December 15th) was unable to find parking space in Haverfordwest.

Currently, there have been some problems due to the development of the new bus station where nearly 50 spaces have had to be closed down while work progressed, but these were returned on December 18th.

The chamber has successfully requested that more four-hour spaces be made available in the multi-storey car park. On Saturdays and Sundays, Scotchwell car park is also still available to the public (even though it is not signposted, a situation that we have asked PCC to remedy).

Long-term, Haverfordwest Chamber of Commerce is pressing Pembrokeshire County Council for more spaces and the introduction of a park and ride scheme.

Please come back, Ms Elliot we do need you!
