FIRE crews in south and mid Pembrokeshire were inundated with calls over the weekend as storm force winds caused havoc across the county.
Gusts forced aerials, slates, and trees to come down as winds topped 90mph.
Narberth fire crews were called to a farm at Lampeter Velfrey, on Saturday morning after a fallen tree blocked the road.
The tree brought down electrical and BT lines, with a live cable setting the tree alight.
Fire crews dealt with the blaze before attending to a diesel spillage at Narberth Bridge and making the road safe after an accident involving two cars at Robeston Wathen.
In mid Pembrokeshire, Milford Haven firefighters also had a hectic time.
Hamilton Terrace was closed to traffic and pedestrians for some time on Sunday, because of structural damage and loose tiles.
Guttering, signs and roofs also had to be made safe as gales swept through the town. Crews were also called to a field near Milford Haven School in Steynton, after main power cables began sparking.
High winds forced the county council to close the Cleddau Bridge to high sided vehicles for part of Friday and Saturday, and close it to all traffic in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Despite no flood warnings for Pembrokeshire on Monday afternoon, Environment Agency Wales confirmed that officers would continue to monitor river levels throughout Wales, even though heavy rain had passed over and levels were beginning to fall.
Flood warning information is available through the agency's 24 hour floodline on 0845 988 1188 or by visiting www.environment-agency.go.uk/floodwarning.
