More success for gym stars

Haverfordwest Gymnastics Club recently competed in the Welsh Novice Gymnastic competition at Sophia Gardens, Cardiff.

They competed on asymmetric bar, beam, floor and vault as individuals and as teams against 147 competitors.

There was individual success for the eight/nine-year-old girls with Kate Matchett fourth and Jasmine Raymond and Harriet Harwood May fifth on floor.

The team, consisting of Kate Matchett, Jasmine Raymond, Harriet Harwood May and Charlotte Rees, finished fourth.

The 12/13 girls again performed exceptionally well, gaining second place in the team event.

There was individual success for Megan Hickling, who gained third place on floor. In the overall individual event, Holly Watkin Rees gained third place - an outstanding result. In the over 14 section there was individual success for Laura Hughes who finished first on vault.
