Councillor is doing his duty

Dear Editor. - In the ongoing debate about Councillor Hall's alleged incorrect travel expenses claim, one aspect appears to have been overlooked.

While, following police inquiries, and a review of the evidence by the Crown Prosecution Service, it has been stated that Cllr Hall committed no criminal offence of obtaining monies dishonestly, his claim may, nevertheless, have been incorrect.

If this is the case, then it is right, on behalf of local taxpayers, that any monies incorrectly obtained should be recovered by the county council.

Cllr Stoddart is right to press the county council to do this, indeed it is his responsibility to do so.

DAVID LLOYD Felin Isaf, St Davids.
