A GIANT marquee seating 800 people will be the venue for a charity ball, organised by Texaco and the Rotary Clubs of Pembroke and Haverfordwest, on St Davids Day, Tuesday, March 1st.
The fundraising evening, to be staged at the North Arena, Folly Farm, is in aid of the Tsunami Appeal, and the aim is to sell 800 tickets at £25 each.
And with Texaco underwriting the cost of the event, every penny will go to the disaster relief effort.
The black tie ball will have a 'Black and White' theme to match the decor of the marquee. Diners will be greeted with a glass of bucks fizz, which will be followed by a hot fork buffet and then entertainment by the 19-piece Syd Lawrence Orchestra, led by musical director Chris Dean.
Phil Thompson, Texaco's public affairs adviser, said: "We are aiming to fill every seat in the house. It should be a great night's entertainment, and with the help of Pembrokeshire people we hope to raise more than £20,000 to help relieve the terrible suffering in Asia.
"The disaster has touched the hearts of so many people and both Rotary and ourselves are grateful to the many local businesses and individuals who have offered their help in organising this event".
Those local businesses supporting the event are Alfresco Catering, Celtic Wine Ltd, Dimond Press, Dingle Marquees, Folly Farm, HSBC Pembroke, and the Western Telegraph. Tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis and payment must accompany the application.
Application forms will be printed in the Western Telegraph or can be obtained from HSBC Bank, Main Street, Pembroke.
