Town celebrates190 proud years

It was in 1814 that the tiny hamlet of Pater Church became Pembroke Dock and the Royal Naval Dockyard was built - the only Royal Dockyard in Wales - and with it the realisation of the strategic importance of the Milford Haven Waterway.

Two-hundred-and-sixty-three ships were built including all but the last royal yacht. During WWII it became of the home of three flying boat squadrons which were part of the patrols of the Western Approaches.

As a fitting celebration to mark the 190th anniversary of the founding of Pembroke Dock, a group of residents got together to organise a summer festival that would provide fun and entertainment for local people as well as promoting the town and attracting tourists. Any proceeds going to local charities.
