Calves (57): An increased entry on the previous week saw the better quality beef calves selling to a top price of £100 for a Belgian Blue from Fear, Brook Farm; £100 for a Simmental from Kedward and Co., Hafod, Llanboidy whilst heifers sold to a top price of £95 for a Belgian Blue from Griffiths, Lan Farm, Llanboidy. Friesian bulls sold to a top price of £30 and averaged £5.33.

Breed Report: Bulls: Friesian max £30, av £5.33; Ayrshire £10, £10; Hereford £40, £40; Aberdeen Angus £13, £13; Simmental £100, £91; Limousin £95, £53.50; Blonde £60, £60; Belgian Blue £100, £100.

Heifers: Friesian £3, £2; Aberdeen Angus £3, £3; Simmental £50, £45; Limousin £54, £28.50; Belgian Blue £95, £95; Welsh Black £30, £30.

Leading prices: Bulls: £100 (BB) from Fear, Brook Farm also £95 (Lim); £100 (Sim) from Kedward and Co., Hafod, Llanboidy also £85 (Sim); £88 (Sim) from Llewellin, Cotland Farm, Llawhaden; £75 (Lim) from Thomas, Little Pale, Whitland also £60 twice (Lim); £60 (Blonde) from Shepherd, Garnwen, Hebron.

Heifers: £95 (BB) from Griffiths, Lan Farm, Llanboidy; £54 (Lim) from Tremellen, Tremoilet Farm, Pendine; £50 twice (Sim) from Bowen, Rose Park, Red Roses; £35 (Sim) from Kedward and Co., Hafod, Llanboidy.

Sheep Section: A reduced entry to the previous week saw hoggs selling to a top price of 114.20p per kilo for 35 kilo hoggs from Williams, Ty Isaf, Llanwnda and averaged overall 105.65p per kilo. Top price per head was £52.40 for 51.5 kilo hoggs from Evans, Cefnhernin, Dryslwyn.

Quotations: Hoggs: 25.5 - 32 kilo max 108.10p per kilo, av 108.10p; 32.1 - 39 kilo 114.20p, 103.94p; 39.1 - 45.5 kilo 110.50p, 106.44p; 45.6 - 52 kilo 113.40p, 104.92p. Non Approved Hoggs sold to a top price of 101.30p per kilo for 36.5 kilos from Sauro, Ripabeck, Treffgarne and averaged 99.28p per kilo.

Cull Ewes and Rams (541): A large entry forward sold as follows, heavy ewes sold to a top price of £58 from Rees, Avola Farm, Red Roses and averaged £40.09, lighter ewes sold to a top price of £31.50 from Davis, Lleinau, Llanboidy and averaged £20.71 whilst cull ewes sold to £40 from Evans and Son, Nantyboncath, Alltwallis and averaged £26.38.

Fat Cattle: An entry of four Limousin heifers all sold at 96.5p per kilo for 480, 465, 545 and 485 kilos respectively and were presented by Price, Martin Hill East Farm, Templeton.
