Dancing the night away steps up funds

A TSUNAMI appeal fundraising dance was held at Letterston Memorial Hall on Saturday night last by members of J. and R. ballroom dancing.

The dance attracted over 100 members and friends and raised over £2,100 from an auction conducted by Yvonne Fox (Jemima Nicholas), a large raffle, rolling for the bottle and other events.

The evening was a great success and the committee thanked individuals and businesses from all over the county who made such generous contributions, especially the Corner Piece clay pigeon shooting club for holding a clay shoot and raising £400.

The evening was opened by Rev Geoffrey Eynon and the music was provided free by Nigel Rees. of Mirage. Details of dancing classes can be obtained on 01437 741220.
