DEAR EDITOR, - I had occasion to shop at Haverfordwest on Thursday, February 17th, at 4pm. I parked in the multi-storey car park on the ground floor.
As you can imagine at that time of day there were plenty of empty spaces.
Careful not to park in a disabled bay, I bought my ticket and went off to do my shopping.
On my return 25 minutes later, a Pembrokeshire County Council official was writing out a £15 fine, as I had inadvertently parked in a permit holder's-only bay.
With all the chaos with building works going on, the small sign attached to temporary wire barriers was easy to miss.
I did appeal to the better nature of Pembrokeshire County Council only to find that they don't possess one. So beware, don't park there.
PAT JONES, 3 St James Street. Narberth.
