Power station saved the day

DEAR EDITOR, - I would like to agree with Dudley Williams' letter (February 23rd) headed, 'Power claim incorrect'.

If Pembroke Power Station had not been in existence during that bad winter of 1981/82, everywhere west of a line between Carmarthen and Aberystwyth would have been without electricity for weeks in freezing conditions.

All that has changed in the 23 years since is that we no longer have a power station to bail us out if the same thing should happen again.
