Somewhere wonderful to live and work

DEAR EDITOR, - Your Comment (March 16th) was 'spot on' and confirmed what we have been saying for some time.

We have lived in Pembrokeshire for 30 years, having moved from the Midlands to renovate two old cottages in the north of the county in 1975. The mainly Welsh-speaking people made us very welcome and we, in turn, did out best to fit into the community.

Our children grew up and moved away, but have now returned to the 'good life' and having succeeded in finding employment, settled and are raising their children here.

We feel that many people coming here with nice fat pensions would like to see Pembrokeshire as a county for leisure and pleasure.

Well, we say long may Texaco and Total stay with us, good luck to Bluestone (even though it's on our doorstep!) and thank goodness the powers-that-be have supported the massive investment of two new power stations.

Hopefully, our grandchildren will have the best of both worlds - somewhere wonderful to live and work.

JEAN AND ED DORRAS The Manse, Coxhill, Narberth.
