BBC WALES presenter Jamie Owen was back in his home town of Pembroke Dock on Tuesday evening to help local people to develop ideas for PLANED's Milford Haven Waterway project, which he officially launched in Llanstadwell in January.
Led by Jamie, the group agreed the name Experience Pembrokeshire's Waterway for the project.
The initiative aims to celebrate and promote the enjoyment of the Milford Haven Waterway, its towns and villages, and its history and heritage by promoting and increasing the quality and number of year-round events taking place around the waterway It was decided to set up a steering group to oversee future developments.
A brochure for 2005 will be distributed before Whitsun, and will include events.
As well as regattas, water carnivals, sailing and other water-based events, the project aims to involve events such as sea shanty evenings, poems and pints, quayside music performances, and other land-based activities.
Community organisations may get support from PLANED to add value to the events that they organise already, as well as to develop new events.
