Search for missing driver

A land and sea search was launched in north Pembrokeshire last week for a 26-year-old man who was reported missing.

Mark William Shaw, aged 26, from Raglan, had been missing from the Gwent area for several days.

A search began in the early hours of Wednesday after his car was found abandoned at Whitesands beach, St Davids.

The St Davids cliff rescue company and inshore lifeboat joined police in a sea and shoreline search from the lifeboat station to half-a-mile to the north of St Davids Head.

Also involved in the search was a 40-strong Brecon mountain rescue company and a helicopter from RAF Chivenor.

There was no sign of the missing man and the police called off the search. But dog handlers were used over the weekend and leaflets handed out to locals and visitors.

Porthmawr Surf Lifesaving Club's RIB also conducted a search.

Mark's parents last saw him at 12.10pm on Monday, March 21st. He left in a black Ford Ka with £100 cash. Mark is described as white, six-feet one inch tall, of a slim build, with short wavy red hair.

He has brown eyes and wears small, round, black-rimmed glasses.

He was wearing a black fleece coat, grey corduroy trousers and navy canvas shoes.

Gwent police are appealing for anybody with information to contact them on 01633 838111.
