Man killed on woodland road

A MAN was killed after the car in which he was travelling was in collision with a telegraph pole on the Llanddowror to Red Roses road.

The fatal accident, involving a Ford Fiesta, closed the A477 for over four hours.

Police, the Ambulance Service and fire appliances from Whitland and Carmarthen were called to the incident a mile west of Whispering Water Valley around 4.30am yesterday (Tuesday).

The road remained closed for some time and traffic had to be diverted.

At the time of going to press, the victim had not been named by police.
