Party declares war on illegal poster sites

Plaid Cymru's Preseli Pembrokeshire constituency committee has declared war on election posters being put in inappropriate places.

In the wake of the General Election the committee put election posters on a par with illegal fly-posting. They condemn the election posters of all parties being affixed to telegraph and electricity poles, trees and any other street furniture.

Chairman of the committee, Rev Christopher Gillham, said, "We are anxious that, in this election, posters should only be placed on private property where permission has been granted.

"Plaid Cymru, therefore, undertakes not to engage in this form of fly posting, and we are instructing our campaign team, branches and supporters to this affect.

"We hope that other parties will make a similar undertaking and we would ask that they would be rigorous in enforcing the correct positioning of posters."
