UKIP names candidates

Retired farmer, Josie MacDonald, a leading campaigner in Wales against GM Crops, will contest the Carmarthen west and south Pembrokeshire seat for the UK Independent Party.

Preseli Pembrokeshire will be contested by James Carver, who runs his small family umbrella making business, as well as working as a political assistant to one of the UKIP Members of the European Parliament, elected following their breakthrough in last year's European Elections.

Jim Carver said: "Our Parliament is gradually becoming just a rubber stamp mechanism to our political masters in Brussels.

"Despite being continually written off by our worried opponents, I believe that UKIP's clear policies are becoming increasingly popular to an electorate that is becoming ever more distant from the main political parties."
