Tory candidate does not pay council tax

DEAR EDITOR, - It was with incredulity that I read in the Western Telegraph (April 27th) the claim of the Pembrokeshire Conservative Association that 'David Morris's rent is inclusive of rates for the property. We understand that council tax is paid on the property'

Which one, I ask? Did they mean the Conservative club in Tenby, or the fictitious property they claimed he occupied in Southcliff Gardens?

David Morris, the Tory candidate, does not pay council tax, the same tax that everyone in property has to pay. Everyone that is except a Tory businessman from Lancashire, bounced in to the county with no understanding of the area. The way to avoid paying this iniquitous tax, it would appear, is to become a Tory candidate.

Mr Morris claimed in his election literature to have a home in the county. It is now clear that, like most Tory candidates in Wales, he has no local connection whatever. Maybe this is why hedoesn't pay council tax?
