J. J. Morris report as follows for the Calf Market held at Cardigan on Monday 9th May: All Rearing calves were again in strong demand, a two week old Belgian Blue Bull making £230 and a four week Blue Heifer £180.

Holstein X manufacturing calves steady around £5 - £512. Top and leading prices: (Steers) - £230 James, Ffynnonwen, Eglwyswrw; £212 (Lim Bull) Stanford and Petts, Dolaeron, Crymych; £198 (BB) Sibley, Login, Verwig; £188 (BB) Smart, Pantbach, Maesllyn; £182 (Lim) Rees, Tymawr, Pentregalar. Heifers £180 (BB) Jones, Pantyrhendy, Llanarth (also £120), £158 Phillips, Corner Farm, Walton East (also £126 and £118); £130 Jones, Penlan Farm, Ponthirwaun; £11O and £105 Stanfield, Trefaes Fach, Beulah.
