Lewis brothers seal victory

County cricket Division One: Cresselly (142 for 4) beat Whitland (138 all out)

A splendid five-wicket spell from Ryan Lewis helped Cresselly re-find their form in a six-wicket win at home to Whitland.

Skipper Paul Webb made 53 for the visitors but they rarely looked likely to inflict defeat on the home side.

Webb had seven fours in his half century before he was caught and bowled by left-armer Matthew Lewis.

He took 2 for 31 alongside big brother Ryan, who finished with 5 for 37.

Richard Harris also picked up 2 for 34 in his 12-over stint.

Mark Lee (27) and Colin John (18) gave assistance to Webb.

Cresselly opened up with a stand of 46 from Julian Arthur (26) and Andrew Harris (12).

There were further useful contributions from Simon Cole (34) and Damien Arthur (14) before Adam Chandler set the seal on Cresselly's success with a rapid-fire 38 not out, including five fours and a six.

They picked up a vital 29 points with 11 overs to spare.
