DEAR EDITOR. - Very often we tend to criticise the council etc for not doing what we think they should be doing. Sometimes, our requests fall on deaf ears.

However, Lamphey WI has gone right ahead to improve things in the environment themselves.

In 'The Bridge' parish magazine is the following snippet, entitled Back on the Rails: "Members of Lamphey WI have now taken on the responsibility of keeping the train station in the village clean, tidy and well stocked with flowers.

Please do all you can to keep the station presentable and a credit to the village."

I greatly admire these enterprising folk for their good work, and trust that everyone heeds their plea.
