Tristars impress

The newly formed Pembrokeshire Tristars, the junior section of the Pembrokeshire Tri-athlon Club, didn't just hit the ground running, but also cycling and swimming, when 13 members recently took part in the Pencoed Triathlon.

Although only two members of the club had previously taken part in a triathlon all thirteen successfully completed the swim, bike and run course to ensure the Pembrokeshire Tristars finished the top club overall in the competition.

A total of seven Pembrokeshire triathletes enjoyed individual success being placed in the top three of their respective categories

The Pencoed Triathlon was the first of The Welsh Dragon Series, which brings junior triathletes from clubs all over Wales together to compete in the multi-sport events of triathlon and duathlon.

The Tristars who have been training hard since January under the careful guidance of head coach Claire Davies, hope to repeat this outstanding success in their next competition in Cardiff.

The Pembrokeshire Tristars caters for children of all abilities aged 8 to 16 and meets at 5.30pm every Friday.
