A drug dealer was caught in the centre of Fishguard carrying cocaine, amphetamine, ecstasy and weighing scales, a judge heard last Wednesday.
Dyfed Lyn Griffiths, aged 35, of Goodwick, pleaded guilty to the previous supply of all three drugs and to possessing the drugs with the intent to supply. He was jailed for two years and eight months.
Mike Edwards, prosecuting, told Swansea crown court Griffiths was on his way to deal in a local pub when police stopped him.
After being questioned, Griffiths handed over a glass bottle containing cocaine and then 12 individual wraps of amphetamine which had already been prepared for selling.
A search revealed further wraps of cocaine and amphetamine hidden in his clothing.
After his arrest, his clothes were searched more closely, and two large bags of cocaine and amphetamine, 48 ecstasy tablets and even a set of weighing scales were found.
A subsequent search of his home at Heol Penlan, Goodwick, turned up a further small amount of cocaine.
Mr Edwards said the drugs had a street value estimated at £1,415.
His barrister, Dyfed Thomas, said Griffiths had made full and frank admissions to the police. At the time he was a drug taker as well as a dealer and sold drugs to fund his own habit.
Mr Thomas added that Griffiths now had a daughter.
Judge Keith Thomas said: "Drugs, particularly hard drugs, cause misery and suffering throughout our communities in Wales and those who supply them must know that they will go to prison.
"I am under no illusion that the sentence will have an effect on your daughter.
"It just beggars belief as to why you are out plying your trade as a drugs supplier instead of being with your family."
