The weather did not hamper the enjoyment for everyone at Roch Village Fete on Saturday. Arriving in style, in the lead vintage car with the jazz band playing Bring Me Sunshine, Derek Brockway brought smiles to everyone's faces.
The BBC Wales weather presenter had a busy afternoon ahead of him. After opening the fete he made time to meet visitors, having many photographs taken and signing autographs.
Stopping for a break in the kitchen for tea, he even had a birthday kiss for one committee member who was celebrating.
There were also stalls of books, nearly new, cakes, bric-a-brac, and also side shows. The jazz band added to the day and vicar Michael Rowlands kept everyone entertained and informed of proceedings.
New for this year was the car display, which included a motorbike and sidecar, and the craft and cookery competitions.
Many locals, especially children, enjoyed spending time before the event decorating their stones, pebbles, cakes and 'tray gardens'.
It already looks like last year's funds total has been smashed and Roch Village Muga (Multiuse Games Area) is likely to become a reality.
