Sport Pembrokeshire - What's on

DISABILITY SPORT Pembrokeshire Disability Football (The Cleddau Warriors) is holding a barbecue and football fun day at Crundale Hall on Sunday, August 14th. The fun will start at 10.30am and run through to 2.30pm. Members from the Pembrokeshire Disability Swimming Squads are attending a Welsh Amateur Swimming Association National Disability Gala at the National Pool in Swansea, on Saturday, August 13th. HALF MARATHON Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club is holding the Pembrokeshire half marathon and 10k runs on Sunday, September 25th. The races cater for both serious and fun runners. Both races start and finish in Dale and take in some fantastic coastal and rural scenery. Registration is at 9.30am with the half marathon starting at 10.30am and the 10k race at 10.45am. Prize categories for male, female, veteran and teams. Any profits raised will be donated to the Bucketful of Hope Appeal in memory of Pembrokeshire Triathlon Club member Adam Evans-Thomas. The closing date for postal entries is Saturday, September 10th . Entries received by this date will receive a race memento. TENNIS The 2005 Pembrokeshire Junior Tennis Tournament is taking place from Saturday, August 13th, to Sunday, August 21st. This tournament is open to children from under ten to under 18. It is a great tournament for those who have had limited experience of matchplay and players of all abilities are invited to play. Held at Haverfordwest Tennis Club, it is a great week's tennis (the Wimbledon for Pembrokeshire!).

FOOTBALL A football leader's award is being held on September 3rd and 4th, at Greenhill School, Tenby, from 10am to 4pm. A first aid course is being planned for Monday, September 12th, at Camrose. SUMMER ROADSHOWS Sport Pembrokeshire is running fun activity weeks throughout the summer. Football is offered to boys and girls of all abilities. The sessions will be fun and, at the same time, structured and varied. The coaches are FAW qualified and have great experience of working with children. Later in the week, Dragon Sport will offer enjoyable and well-organised activities, including athletics, cricket, football, hockey, netball and tennis. Children with disabilities are encouraged to take part in the Dragon Sport multi-activity days. However, If a child requires one to one care, a carer should accompany the child to the session. Dates for the roadshows are: August 8th - August 10th - Thornton Hall, Milford Haven. August 11th - August 12th - Neyland Athletic Club.
