Church greets all creatures great and small

CREATURES great and small could be found at St John's Church, Pembroke Dock, on Sunday.

This is the first time the church has thrown it doors open to four-legged parishioners.

Vicar Andrew Davies said: "I have held pet services in other parishes years ago. People think I got the idea from the TV's Vicar of Dibley, but if anything they copied it from me.

"Sunday's service went really well and a lot of children turned up with their pets."

The congregation was made up of around 40 people and 40 animals, including cats, dogs, a lizard, snail, worms, bugs and a tortoise.

The animals seemed to have a certain reverence for the church and there were no accidents during the service.
