CCF brings dairy supplies to your door

Farmer-owned co-operative CCF Ltd is responding to customer demand by launching a new sales and delivery service.

A van fully equipped with dairy hygiene and related products will visit dairy farms across south-west Wales.

CCF Ltd general manager, Keith Gosney, who unveiled the van at this week's Pembrokeshire County Show, said a specialist salesman had been recruited to operate the service.

The decision to launch it, he said, had been taken in response to a questionnaire completed by 500 farmer shareholders.

"We are using south west Wales as a test market, but if this service is successful we are planning to have others throughout our trading area,'' said Mr Gosney.

"The aim is to provide a better service and give shareholders good value."

Pembrokeshire farmer John Davies, who milks 150 cows at Heatherton Farm, Gumfreston, said the van would be convenient for stocking up on supplies of milking parlour circulation cleaner and teat dips.

He farms six miles from the Carew branch of CCF Ltd and makes regular trips there to buy dairy hygiene products.

"This van will cut down on those journeys which means I can spend more time concentrating on other issues on the farm,'' said Mr Davies. The van will be doing the rounds from September 12th.
