Scarlet fever at college

Pembrokeshire College's rugby academy has been designated by Llanelli Scarlets as the local Centre of Excellence for the development of 16-18 year old rugby players in the county.

This means that the college's academy will be closely integrated with the Scarlets under 18 academy and college players will also be able to move into the Scarlets academy when they are ready.

Other benefits to the college academy include master classes by Scarlets coaching staff, group training and conditioning with the Scarlets, free entry to home Celtic League fixtures and the use of the Scarlets logo on playing kits.

Principal Glyn Jones said: "This is a real step up for our rugby academy and makes it the obvious choice for aspiring young players.

"Being part of the Scarlets development programme will be a huge benefit to the county's young star players."
