Businesses shortlisted for food and drink awards

ELEVEN Pembrokeshire businesses have been shortlisted for the 2005/06 True Taste/Gwir Flas Wales Food and Drink Awards.

After two days of tasting nearly 500 products from 177 companies, the judging panel, made up of chefs, food writers, restaurateurs and food buyers, made their choice.

Tan y Castell, Narberth; Welsh Hook Meat Centre, Haverfordwest; Boncath's Caws Cenarth; Yerbeston Gate Farm Shop; Bethesda Meats, Narberth; Broad Haven's Sharon's Kitchen; Llaeth Bethesda, Narberth; Drim Farm Foods, Llawhaden; Pembrokeshire Pork and Sausage, Boncath; Miranda's Preserves, Goodwick, and Knock Farm Organic, Fishguard, were all shortlisted.

Calon Wen Organic Milk Co-Operative Ltd in Whitland will also join them.

The 90 highest scoring products will be judged from a business perspective in September, with the winners revealed at the award ceremony at the Millennium Centre on November 24th.
