Amazed by food rules

Dear Editor - On February 17th, l had a cup of coffee at the WRVS canteen in Withybush Hospital.

I was amazed to see a cellophane wrapped Bakewell tart for sale with a sell-by date of March 17th. I remember the WRVS being forbidden from selling home-produced sandwiches and food on the grounds of hygiene, but the same officials still allow factory produced food to be sold at least four weeks after it came from a production line. Is it me or has the world gone completely mad?
