Last chance for services?

DEAR EDITOR - I read, yet again, in your paper that people from outside Pembrokeshire, and even outside Wales, are recommending that health services be taken away from us. Nothing changes.

So who is to blame ultimately? It is not the employees of the Trust. In the first instance we must blame the Board members of the Trust for it is they who will carry out any cuts. But are they ultimately responsible? The truth is that they are not given enough money by the Labour government in Cardiff to keep our health services here in Pembrokeshire. That is where the buck must stop. We have two Labour politicians representing Pembrokeshire in the Labour government in Cardiff. They should be Pembrokeshire's voice in Cardiff, not Cardiff's voice in Pembrokeshire. The thing that politicians fear most in all the world is losing an election. There is a National Assembly election next year. We will never have a better time to put pressure on the Labour politicians to keep all our health services based here in Pembrokeshire. Now is perhaps our last chance.
