So you want to win the Masters?

If you are aspiring to win the US Masters in Augusta this year, Haverfordwest Golf Club is the club to join!

They have now started a new membership category of sub junior. This is for young golfers who can benefit from professional lessons every Saturday morning at 10.30am followed by competitions.

Emily Morris, one of the sub juniors, recently showed the benefit of the coaching by beating US Masters three times winner and Europe's greatest ever golfer, Nick Faldo, at the final of the Faldo Series at Celtic Manor.

In a game of trigolf, Emily aged nine won her way to the final against Nick. Unfortunately for Nick, Emily won.

When Emily's brother Max, also a keen golfer, asked Nick what it was like to be beaten by a girl, he replied: "It does not count, its too cold!"

However, Nick was a very gracious loser and asked Emily to help him in demonstrating good chipping technique to older members.

Any aspiring golfers who are interested in taking up the game should contact Alex Pile at Haverfordwest Golf Club on 01437 768409
