Get fit and raise cash

FAMILIES are being urged to get on their bikes and raise money for the British Heart Foundation.

It is hoped that about 300 riders from across the county will sign up for the 13th annual Hearts First bike ride on May 21st.

AM for Preseli Pembrokeshire, Tamsin Dunwoody and chairman of Pembrokeshire County Council, Clive Collins launched the event on Monday with the first few participants signing up at Haverfordwest Football Club.

Event organiser Mali James said: "There is a 15 mile route and a 30 mile route. This event will be a great way to raise money and improve your own health. It is also a chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery and excellent cycle paths Pembrokeshire has to offer."

Tamsin said: "With the continued support of local people in Pembrokeshire we can help the British Heart Foundation carry on funding vital work to save and improve the thousands of lives affected by heart disease every year. I am delighted to support this event."

The event costs £8 if you register early by calling 02920 382401 or forms are available from cycle shops around the county. To register on the day costs £10.
