Postcard call

Dear Editor, - I am trying to build up a collection of postcards produced by Morris Mendus, pharmacist in St David's between 1930-60.

He was the photographer for these cards and was also the younger brother of my father, John, pharmacist in Pembroke for many years. Morris photographed extensively the area around St David's, including many fine examples of both the interior and exterior of the Cathedral; the coastline around Solva and Newgale, and the islands of Ramsey and Grassholm with their seals and bird life.

His cards had a lettering and numbering system and were usually marked "Photograph by WM Mendus, Chemist, St David's" on the reverse side.

Since no complete collection of his postcards exists, I started to build up my own and thus a catalogue of the series. I have still some way to go before completion but would be grateful to any reader who can supply information of cards they may have and thus help me in my task.
