No LNG link objections

Conditional approval was recommended at yesterday's (Tuesday's) county planning committee for a link to the National Grid pipeline at the Dragon LNG terminal at Waterston.

The committee was told there had been no objections to the development which involves the provision of a level platform with a 1.2m diameter steel pipeline and fittings below ground and a 750mm steel pipeline connection.

Two new 3m high buildings will accommodate instrumentation with security cameras and floodlights on six metre poles and a 2.4m palisade fence with a 4m high non-lethal electrified fence to protect the site.

The site is west of the 25-hectare LNG terminal on land south-west of the former Gulf refinery.
