Tireless earth

Some seven  years ago, I was working full- time on the front- line in the criminal justice system; studying post- grad, part- time; in addition to being a wife, and mother to three young children.

Seven year itch

Picture this: a mellow, Sunday morning walk on a deserted beach. Breathing in the fresh air, lightly scented with seaweed; watching the dogs splashing in the salty surf. A welcome warp of peace and relaxation, in a week of emotional demands and tense decisions. Bliss!

The first six weeks or so of this year have been imbued with the essence of patience for me. Doing nothing, whilst waiting for others to do something has, in fact, shown me that even when you remain perfectly still there will still be circles of movement around you.

Sometimes the balancing act is as simple as stopping to appreciate a beautiful sunset!

Healing Hands

Last night as I lay quietly in bed, a whole load of noise and action was playing out in my head. At one point it got so loud I wondered if it would wake up the dogs and set them off barking. However, it didn’t and eventually all the palaver settled down and one of my last thoughts, just before I dropped off to sleep was that the saying ‘we come into this world alone; therefore it is natural for us to leave it alone’ isn’t quite true.
