CARE home staff took part in a daredevil challenge to raise money for a sensory garden.
Six dedicated members of staff at Mount Pleasant Care Home in Weymouth took part in a sponsored zorbing activity, which involved rolling down a hill in a large inflatable ball.
The sensory garden will benefit residents who are partially sighted or have hearing problems. The nervous staff rose to the challenge and rolled down the hill inside their zorb balls, picking up speed and bouncing over bumps.
They emerged to cheers and applause from their fellow staff members, who came to support them.
Clare Barber, deputy manager at the Mount Pleasant Avenue home, chose the activity because she wanted to do something out of the ordinary for her residents.
She said: “Everyone was really excited about doing it, but hurtling down a hill in a giant hamster ball is a scary prospect!
“I’m really proud of the staff that took part. Once we’ve collected all the sponsorship money, we’ll put it towards the sensory garden we’re planning at Mount Pleasant.”
