Denis Watkins retired to Newport, with his wife Daphne, after spending much of his working life in Nottingham. Since moving to Pembrokeshire he has immersed himself in the culture and language of the county. He has learnt Welsh so that he can chat to native Welsh speakers, listen to Radio Cymru and read and write fairly well. His other interests are politics, the environment,walking on the Preselis and the coastal path with his two labradors, rowing, reading biographies and writing.
