Well, the voters of Pembrokeshire have had their say, apart from those in 13 of the 60 wards, in which there was only 1 nomination and therefore that person was elected unopposed. Strangely enough, 13 were also returned unopposed in the 2008 elections.

It was 12 years ago that it was announced that the world's population had reached 6 billion. Today, we are told it will see the birth of number 7 billion. Apparently, it took until the 1800's for the population to actually reach 1 billion as disease, famine, wars saw most people off at a relatively young age.

I love Dancing on Ice and Jason Gardiner is my favourite judge. Like Simon Cowell who is seen as Mr Nasty on X Factor and Britain's Got Talent, they both tend to be spot on with their comments. What Emma Bunton brings to Dancing on Ice is somewhat dubious, however. In recent weeks, we have heard much of what is happening in Libya and I took ages working out who Saif Gaddafi looked and sounded like. Yes, in my opinion, Jason Gardiner almost looks like a spitting image of the Libyan dictator's son! Have a look at the photos. I guess Saif uses the glasses to distinguish himself from Jason, who this season, is wearing flamboyant flat caps. Maybe one stands in for the other, if the other needs a rest?

I don't know what it is about Conservative Prime Ministers, but we had John Major and his "Back to Basics" and now we have David Cameron having to constantly relaunch his "Big Society".
