On 8 September 1972 a record that would inspire future generations was released by the one of the most flamboyant and charismatic bands of the original glam rock era. Marc Bolan and T.Rex stormed the charts with one of his most memorable and distinctive songs of that decade - Children of the Revolution. 40 years on the song has become iconic and legendary, along with Bolan’s other best selling anthems of that year that included, Metal Guru and Telegram Sam. T-Rextasy are the only band to have been authorised and endorsed by Marc Bolan’s Catalogue Management and are officially recognised as the worlds' No. 1 group dedicated to the greatest glam rocker of them all, Marc Bolan of T.Rex. With their uncanny doppelganger lead singer and lead guitarist, Danielz, T-Rextasy perform a powerful and mesmerising presentation of Mark Bolan’s rock and pop anthems. T-Rextasy have now been performing around the world for 20 years, a career that ironically outlives Marc’s very own T.Rex. The band has been described by many as “beyond the boundaries of tribute” and are respected in their own right. Truly a rock ’n’ roll concert for all ages. If you would like to know exactly what a Marc Bolan concert was like in the 1970s, this show is for you!

Hollywood A-lister Gillian Anderson stars in a gripping new psychological thriller from the BBC, The Fall, which comes to DVD and Blu-ray from Acorn Media. The Fall is an enthralling drama that forensically examines the lives of two hunters – one a serial killer that stalks his victims at random, the other a high-powered detective superintendent brought in to catch him. This five-part series hit TV screens last night and is available on DVD and Blu-ray from today. Emmy and Golden Globe winner Anderson (The X Files, Great Expectations), plays DSI Gibson, who arrives in Belfast on secondment from the Met to conduct a review into a high profile murder case where the police are getting nowhere. She quickly realises that the case is linked to others and that there is a deadly serial killer at large. Paul Spector (Jamie Dornan – Once Upon a Time, Shadows in the Sun) is a serial killer who stalks his victims at random in and around Belfast whilst chillingly hiding behind the façade of loving husband and father. The Fall stars a strong supporting cast including Archie Panjabi (The Good Wife), John Lynch (Labyrinth) and Laura Donnelly (Insatiable) and is written by the exceptional Allan Cubitt (Prime Suspect 2, The Boys Are Back). Revealing how a modern, top-level murder investigation team works when it comes up against every policeman’s worst nightmare, The Fall is a rich and complex thriller that is less of a ‘whodunit’ and more of a cat-and-mouse game.

Win Lynda la Plante's Civvies on DVD!

From Lynda La Plante comes a gripping TV drama from the 1990s that resonates as powerfully today as ever. In a time when waves of soldiers are returning from Afghanistan and Iraq, Civvies is a shocking, violent, unflinching drama that puts you in the front line on the home front, as powerful, unforgiving and true as when first broadcast. Frank Dillon is retiring from the Army after 15 years with only £5,000 which won’t last and the physical and psychological scars which will. He’d rather drink with the boys and go out looking for a fight than return home to the family he loves so much it hurts.
But what he and his mates have gone through, what they’ve seen, what they’ve done is something no one else will understand and so they turn to each other – when the doors close, when the pubs open, when revenge is the answer, when the scars are healing. As they struggle to find their feet in the world, always lurking in the darkness is Barry Newman, an East End gangster who is one of the few to see potential in hard men trained to kill. Whether they can avoid the darkness and stay in the light will be seen as we see life in Civvies. From the acclaimed television dramatist famed for such series as Prime Suspect, Trial and Retribution and Above Suspicion, Civvies reflects Lynda La Plante’s deep understanding of the human psyche and the terrible impact that war has on the men and women who must live with it. Starring Jason Isaacs (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) as Frank Dillon and Peter O’Toole (The Ruling Class) in the role of crime boss Barry Newman, Civvies is on DVD in a two disc set from Acorn Media.

Steve Strange was the original New Romantic vocalist of Visage and is synonymous with one of the most flamboyant images. He defined and inspired an era! Steve is a figurehead who created a legend with the masterminding of the Blitz Club and its pioneering acts such as Spandau Ballet. The Blitz Club became the most marvellous collection of the weird and wonderful people and was also the birthplace of bands, styles and fashions of the 80's. Steve appeared in David Bowie's video "Ashes to Ashes", an appearance which helped propel the New Romantic look into the mainstream. Steve formed Visage with Midge Ure and Rusty Egan (the pair were band mates from "The Rich Kids") in 1978. As the public face of the band, Steve shot to stardom throughout Europe as Visage enjoyed a series of hit singles. In 1984 with Visage on hold, Steve returned to hosting club nights (such as Club For Heroes and the Camden Palace). Founding fathers of the New Romantics and pioneers of the 80's sound, Visage have returned with a new album "Hearts And Knives" nearly 30 years since their last album.

Dogwoof is delighted to announce the release of the multi-award winning breathtaking feature documentary Chasing Ice on DVD and as their first ever Blu-ray release. In the spring of 2005, National Geographic photographer James Balog headed to the Arctic on a tricky assignment: to capture images to help tell the story of the Earth’s changing climate. That first trip north opened his eyes to the biggest story in human history and sparked a challenge within him that would put his career and his very well-being at risk. Chasing Ice is the story of one man’s mission to change the tide of history by gathering undeniable evidence of our changing planet. James Balog set about trekking across the Arctic region and, using time-lapse cameras, created The Extreme Ice Survey. Using techniques, untested in bitterly cold, subzero temperatures, he battled for years to pull together evidence of the effects of climate change. The astounding videos he recorded shrink months and years into seconds to highlight how ice is literally disappearing from the landscape. The film gained huge critical acclaim on its cinematic release and helped convert even the most hardened climate change sceptics. Its amazing imagery can be seen in its high-definition glory. Chasing Ice is a truly astonishing film that shows both the human drama of a man determined to show a changing planet, and the actual evidence. It has to be seen to be believed.

After crashing his gangster stepfather's prize car, Adam (Jack O’Connell, 300: Rise of An Empire; Harry Brown, Eden Lake) is forced to repay the debt by teaming up with professional hit man, Roy, to act as driver on what should be a swift and easy mission. Whilst Roy desperately wants to leave the killing game, Adam develops into an enthusiastic and aspirational hit-man. The pair take a road trip ending deep in a forest, far away from home. Roy executes the target with ruthless efficiency only for the duo to then realise they've been caught in the act. A beautiful, mysterious young woman (Talulah Riley (St Trinians 1 & 2, Pride & Prejudice) has witnessed the murder and professional code dictates that she must also now be dispatched. As the two men deliberate over killing her, their witness makes her escape with an incriminating piece of evidence. Thus begins a cat and mouse chase that ultimately reveals the sinister reason for Adam's stepfather (Peter Mullan (War Horse, Tyrannosaur) having commissioned the deadly hit and the true identity of their witness and her reasons for seeking retribution on the gangster.

From the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie, comes a tale of money, manipulation and murder in Sparkling Cyanide, coming to DVD from Acorn Media this June. Self-made multi-millionaire George Barton is a man of influence and power – but even he doesn’t have the power to save his beautiful young wife when she collapses, poisoned, at a dinner party. Who amongst his friends and those who ‘love’ him most might have done such a deed? And what was the motive? The fact that one of the guests is a leading government minister who was having an affair with the victim leads to concern at the highest levels – and the highest levels call on Colonel Geoffrey Reece and Dr Catherine Kendall to step in and sort it all out. But what they discover, buried in the world of championship footballers, fitness fanatics, loose-living gamblers, friends and family, will lead to even more murderous acts before the killer is finally caught out. Sparkling Cyanide features a pantheon of fine British acting including Pauline Collins (Quartet), Oliver Ford Davies (Johnny English), Kenneth Cranham (Layer Cake), Jonathan Firth (An Ideal Husband), Susan Hampshire (Nancherrow) and James Wilby (Gosford Park). Vintage entertainment that’s fun for crime-crackers, sleuths and puzzlers, Agatha Christie uncorks a fine wine that turns out to be Sparkling Cyanide.
