Dragons are in the majority

NEWPORT Gwent Dragons supply eight members of the Wales Under-18 team to meet Six Nations Festival hosts Ireland at Musgrave Park in Cork tonight.

Six of them are in the pack - props Daniel Watchurst and Stewart Maguire, lock Tom Crandon and the entire back row of Dave Francis, Rhys Jenkins and James Thomas.

The Dragons backs in the side are wings Adam Hughes and Ieuan Coombes.

Wales head coach Simon King is looking forward to a tough assignment against the Irish.

Wales go into their first game having recently tasted international action at this level against England, Scotland and a French selection and King says his side are ready for a tough game.

"It doesn't come much tougher than the host team in the first game but in every tournament you look forward to getting a game under your belt and we have prepared well," he said.

Wales have named a strong side for the game captained by Blues hooker Rhys Williams.

"We've been down to Musgrave Park and we are really pleased with the facilities. I think the boys will enjoy playing here and now we just want the festival to get underway," said King.
