With its compact shopping centre, ample seafront parking and easily accessible amenities, Saundersfoot remains one of the most popular seaside resorts in the south of the county.
From the three main car parks, all facilities are within level walking distance and the village centre is a particular hive of activity during the summer months.
For those who love the sea, the sailing club is open to all, while the harbour offers a range of seaborne activities. They include deep sea and mackerel fishing trips, parascending, round-Caldey-Island and bay cruises, speedboat trips and skiing lessons.
It is also a former industrial centre of some note. From the main car park, visitors can walk along the former Railway Street - now The Strand - and follow the disused railway line through a number of tunnels in the cliff around to Wiseman's Bridge, where the coal-carrying trains went inland.
Saundersfoot also has four churches of different denominations, with a fifth - the impressive St Issells Church, which hosts an annual flower festival in association with Saundersfoot in Bloom - within five minutes' driving distance.
Saundersfoot is also noted for its different types of accommodation and its pubs, clubs, restaurants and wine bars, while those who enjoy home-made food are advised to pay a visit to the outdoor WI Market on Thursday mornings.
